US & EU Take Different Approaches To Electric Cars From China

It is also intended to boost domestic sourcing of battery materials.

The proposed grant had drawn ferocious criticism from congressional Republicans because of the company’s ties to China, including a Microvast subsidiary there., the largest battery maker in the world and one that is based in China. Ford insists it is just licensing the technology and that CATL will have no role in the factory.
