Amidst escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, the United States is deploying additional troops to the Middle East. This move comes following a series of attacks that have heightened concerns over a wider conflict in the region.

The U.S. is sending more troops to the Middle East as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah heats up, according toHezbollah, also spelled "Hizballah", was founded amid the chaos of the Lebanese Civil War, after Israel invaded southern Lebanon. They released their, which vowed to expel Western powers from Lebanon, called for the destruction of the Israeli state, and pledged allegiance to Iran's supreme leader.
That invasion sparked some serious tension and resentment among a group of Shiite Muslims and they started to fight the Israeli occupation. From there, Iran saw this conflict as an opportunity to capitalize and expand their influence in the Arab states. Iran began funding and training Hezbollah to empower them in their fight against Israel and the West.Iran has given Hezbollah hundreds of millions of dollars in recent years, and trained thousands of fighters at camps in Iran.
Some of Iran's other main players are Hamas in Palestine, the Houthi movement in Yemen, and multiple other terrorist groups in Iraq, Syria, and Bahrain. From 2012-2018, Iran spent $16 billion propping up the Assad regime and supporting its other terror partners in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestinian territories. While this spending decreased from 2019-2020, it has since increased to record highs.
