US coronavirus cases soar past 900

THE number of Covid-19 cases in the US surged to more than 900 yesterday, according to an AFP tally, after public health experts criticised authorities for downplaying the epidemic and lagging behind in testing efforts. At least 28 people have died and 910 others infected, according to a state-by-state count, a significant jump from the 550 cases the day before.
