More than $29 billion in tariff revenues were collected by the U.S. government in July, the highest record this year.

Trump and Marcos are expected to discuss trade tariffs, increasing security cooperation in the face of China’s growing maritime power in the West Philippine Sea and other topics. More than $29 billion in tariff revenues were collected by the U.S. government in July, pushing the total tariff revenue for this year to more than $152 billion. This is the highest monthly total to date so far for 2025. Tariff revenues have risen every month since April, which saw $17.4 billion collected. This revenue comes as the U.S. approaches Thursday, when global tariff rate changes are set.for the new tariff rates from Aug. 1 to Aug. 7 last week, giving additional time for U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.with U.S.’s key trading partners. Eleven out of the country’s 15 top trading partners signed a trade deal with the U.S., including Japan and the European Union. Members of the Trump administration have previously said the tariffs may generate more than $300 billion. However, some are criticizing the tariffs; Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., slammed the tariff revenues posting, “Trump’s tariffs are hiking your prices at the grocery store so he can pay for his tax cuts for billionaires.”Trump continues to push for broader trade deals with key countries; on Monday, Trump said he will raise tariffs on Indian goods.
