The US has drafted a new UN security council resolution calling for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza, amid mounting pressure onby a UN panel of experts earlier this week, the Biden administration has been ramping up efforts to call at least a temporary halt to the fighting, on top of warning Israel against launching a ground attack against Rafah in southern Gaza.
“I think that would send a strong message, a strong signal,” he told the Saudi Arabian channel Al Hadath on Wednesday.
