Trump shared the latest update on Truth Social on Saturday afternoon, stating the narrow and vital waterway will once again be open to all after the deal is signed on Sunday - the same day as his 80th birthday. The deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is open to all. Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had.

Despite Trump stating a deal will be reached in less than 24 hours, an Iran spokesperson said it would not be signed by then, the New York Times reported.
Esmail Baghaei, a foreign ministry spokesperson, said that a final deal could take place in the coming days, per the report. Baghaei also noted that discussions over Iran's nuclear capabilities would take place over a 60-day time period after an initial agreement is met, the outlet stated. According to the NYT, if the agreement is signed on Sunday, it is likely to be done so electronically.
Though it is highly uncommon for diplomatic agreements to be done virtually, Trump is expected to be in Washington DC on Sunday to ring in his birthday with the UFC fight outside the White House. The deal would effectively end the war between the US and Iran, and it would open up the body of water for commercial tankers to get through without being attacked.
The president's latest comment on the war in Iran comes just days after he fumed that leadership in Tehran, Iran's capital, has leaked a copy of the impending peace deal. Trump signaled on Thursday that Iran had agreed to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that would extend the ongoing ceasefire for 60 days, during which the two sides could negotiate the future of Iran's nuclear program and other specifics.
The MOU addresses Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium and reportedly discusses billions in sanctions relief. We're not quite at the finish line yet, but we're very close, a senior White House official said of the MOU on Friday. But on Friday, the President lashed out on social media, saying that the leaked terms have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to.
The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing. What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth. Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith.
