Rochester, N.Y. Groundbreaking research that could change the future of health care will soon begin right here in Monroe County.
Leaders at the University of Rochester Medical Center held a press conference Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, announcing $27 million funding award for a groundbreaking heart failure medication study.

"If we have data, if we have science to prove what we are recommending, it's going to make it a lot easier," explained Mehmet Aktas, the principal investigator for the study. "That's what we are going to do with this trialThe study is expected to be complete by the end of 2030. More than 3,000 patients will be enrolled in the study at 115 sites across the U.S. and Canada.
