Urban Cookhouse has found its way to the Lone Star State. The first Texas location of the restaurant, which offers a “farm-to-fire-to-table” experience, opened in Prosper on Aug. 11 at 1151 S. Preston Road.
The new franchise location of the Alabama-based chain follows the same principles as its predecessors: a focus on high-quality, local ingredients sourced from local growers. Menu items include wraps, salads and sandwiches, such as the Urban Cowboy sandwich with lime-marinated steak, caramelized peppers and onions, and pepper jack cheese packed within a French roll. Also available at Urban Cookhouse is a fork-and-knife menu with eats like The Down Home, a plate filled with turkey, hot cheddar pasta, broccoli salad and the restaurant’s signature orange roll.Saturdays and Sundays feature brunch hour, too. Dishes include the Farm-to-table Breakfast, an entree of eggs, herb-roasted potatoes, bread and a choice of applewood smoked bacon or chicken sausage.“Expect the freshest eggs, greens, honey from our Prosper neighbors and baked goods from local storefronts,” Zemlock said in a prepared statement. “A signature coffee blend from 1418 Coffee is also in the works.” The Prosper location will feature a mini-market inside the restaurant, selling homemade sauces and dressings, orange rolls, honey, pickles and more.Sofia Sierra is a summer intern for The Dallas Morning News.
