A UPS driver from Harrisburg is facing charges after he was seen throwing multiple packages into a dumpster.

Richard Moore , 60, allegedly threw six packages into the dumpster of a Cumberland County business while working as a delivery driver, according to charging documents.

On July 9, Silver Spring Township Police heard from the manager of a repair center in Mechanicsburg, whose business captured surveillance of a UPS truck driving to the back of the business and using the dumpster around 5:14 p.m. The manager told officers that a man in UPS clothing got out of the truck and threw six unopened boxes into the dumpster.Police spoke with the business labeled on the packages, who confirmed it was missing six packages, and officers were able to use tracking information to verify that the packages thrown out by the UPS driver were in fact the ones missing from the business.Surveillance footage from the repair center where the packages were discarded showed that later in the day, around 6:14 p.m.

Authorities eventually identified the driver as Moore, and in an interview with police, Moore admitted he put the packages in the dumpster and later came back to get them, according to charging documents.CBS 21 News has reached out to UPS for a statement and has not yet heard back.
