Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green apologized to his teammates Thursday for a training camp altercation with Jordan Poole that ended with a punch being thrown.
Warriors GM Bob Myers met with reporters to comment on the incident that has been buzzing around social media since the dust-up occurred on Wednesday.
"Everybody's fine," Myers said."Jordan practiced today. Draymond didn't. Look it's the NBA, in professional sports these things happen. Nobody likes it. We don't condone it, but it happened. Draymond apologized to the team this morning. Jordan was there in the room. I was there in the room. The team, the coaches, the players. We heard that.""As far as any suspension, punishment, fine, we are going to handle that internally," he said.
Myers said the altercation has nothing to do with either Poole or Green's contract situations. Both player's are eligible for lucrative extensions before next season.Hours earlier, Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala also tried to calm down the uproar. While his body has been worn down by 19 years of play and the skill set has eroded some, Iguodala's leadership role has never really been stronger. That's why the Warriors worked so hard to convince him to come back this season as they attempt to win back-to-back NBA titles.
