The Tucson Police Department has confirmed a fatal motorcycle incident has caused delays westbound on Broadway near Swan.
UPDATE - Tucson Police issued a news release on the crash involving a motorcycle that took place in the area of Broadway and Swan on Wednesday. According to the news release, 60-year-old Marc Ian La Brack was riding westbound on East Broadway, faster than the posted 35 miles per hour limit, at around 4:45 p.m. when he struck a 2023 Subaru Forester. The Forester was headed eastbound on Broadway and was attempting to turn left onto North Venice Stravenue, the news release said.
The 61-year-old female driver of the Forester remained at the scene. Tucson Police determined she was not impaired at the time of the crash. La Brack was not wearing a helmet, but did have the proper motorcycle endorsement associated with the driver's license. He was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing.
