The National Weather Service issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 5:35 p.m. on Thursday in effect until 6 p.m. for Jefferson County.
Updated: Aug. 29, 2024, 5:42 p.m."At 5:35 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Mountain Brook, and is nearly stationary," states the weather service. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees."
