After being hospitalized for COVID-19 on Friday, October 2, President Trump has now been discharged from Walter Reed. “Feeling good!” he wrote on Twitter.
Just a few days prior to his diagnosis, President Trump faced off against former Vice President Joe Biden in the first presidential debate on September 29, where Trump repeatedly made light of Biden’s consistent use of face masks. Everyone in attendance at the debate had to undergo COVID-19 testing before entering the venue,. However, that doesn’t mean attendees couldn’t test positive later—and have potentially exposed others to the virus in the intervening time.
Trump continued traveling in the days following the debate, attending a campaign fundraiser in New Jersey hours before his positive coronavirus test result.
