The old post office on Village Street in Edwalton, which is thought to have been built in the 17th century, was at risk of demolition in 2019
The future of a charming 400-year-old Nottinghamshire post office that narrowly escaped destruction will soon be decided after new plans for it emerged. .
The applicants behind the proposals, the Brown family, have brought forward changed plans to repair and refurbish the post office. They argued planned works needed to be altered for "structural reasons", with planning documents explaining the building is currently in a state of disrepair.
Council records show the homeowners had previously been given an enforcement notice for an "unauthorised partial demolition" on the site last year. The recently-submitted planning application is pending consideration by Rushcliffe Borough Council.
