The new 2023 Porsche Taycan is arriving soon with updated software that improves its EPA range estimates. The update also has benefits for older Taycans.

The software update is an optional service for those 2022 and earlier Taycan models, and owners will need to go to their local Porsche dealers to have it uploaded.

Specifically, the front motor now de-energizes in Normal and Range modes on dual-motor Taycans, which reduces the parasitic load across that axle, and regen settings are no longer lost when switching drive modes.
