GULF SHORES, Ala. -- One man is dead after a shooting involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation took place Friday afternoon in Gulf Shores, according to a report.

The FBI says during an attempt to serve arrests and search warrants on Colonial Parkway, they found an armed individual. They have not confirmed whether the deceased was the suspect they were looking for. It happened at the Colonial Grand at Traditions Apartment Homes. The coroner arrived on the scene around 5:30 p.m. Dozens of first responders were seen canvassing the area.There is a large police presence in the area of Oak Road West and Gulf Shores Parkway regarding an FBI officer involved shooting. The GSPD is assisting the FBI with scene security however GSPD officers were not involved nor took part in the incident. As more information becomes available it will be released by the FBI.

In part, the FBI stated, "In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s inspection division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide." The Gulf Shores Police Department is also assisting in the investigation. They were not on the scene when the search and arrest warrants were being served.This is a developing story.
