Sebaliknya penganjur Olimpik Paris 2024 membuat kelainan dengan perarakan atlet akan menyusuri Sungai Seine, sungai yang mengalir melalui bandar Paris, yang turut dikenali sebagai ‘Bandar Cahaya’.

Setiap bot delegasi negara bertanding akan dibekalkan dengan ka­mera bagi membolehkan penonton melihat atlet kesayangan masing-ma­sing sepanjang upacara pembukaan. Perarakan berlangsung sejauh enam kilo­meter dan melalui tempat bersejarah di Paris seperti Notre Dame, Lovre dan Pont des Arts sebelum berakhir di Trocadero.Lebih menarik, 80 skrin gergasi ditempatkan di serata bandar Paris bagi membolehkan orang ramai menikmati keme­riahan temasya.

Pemenang lapan pingat emas Sukan Olimpik, Usain Bolt kagum dengan idea tersebut selepas dia dibawa menyusuri Sungai Seine bersama delegasi Perancis dalam majlis persembahan obor Olimpik dan Paralimpik Paris 2024 pada 25 Julai lalu. “Saya rasa ia akan menjadi upacara pembukaan yang terbaik. Bayangkan semua orang di luar sana, di atas jambatan bersorak riang ke atas atlet-atlet. Ia sesuatu yang tidak pernah dilakukan sebelum ini,” jelas Bolt. – AGENSI
