UP frat alumni send aid to COVID19 frontliners, set up quarantine facilities at Diliman campus
MANILA - Alumni of a fraternity at the University of the Philippines - Diliman have come together to send help for frontliners in the battle against the coronavirus crisis.
Among its efforts is building a temporary frontliner shelter at the university's NISMED hotel and quarantine facilities in nearby frontliner spots such as the Lung Center of the Philippines, and Camp Bagong Diwa in Quezon City. "As UP alumni, we are happy that the University remains relevant in these times of crisis by allowing its buildings to be used as temporary shelter for mild and moderate COVID-19 cases. And as patriotic citizens, we will rally behind the University to make sure that this endeavor will become successful,” Jackie Cruz, president of the UP Alpha Sigma Fraternity Alumni Association, said in a statement.
