Central and Southern California are forecast to remain dry, according to the National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center. While far Northern California, including Eureka, could pick up a couple inches of rain over the next week, the San Francisco Bay Area is more likely to see light showers. 'It's a sign of the times.
The Northern Sierra could see snow at the highest elevations, maybe a quarter to a half inch. Up toward the Shasta area, we could see upwards of an inch.' This system is forecast to bring rain to the Bay Area. 'In the North Bay, it's going to be persistent. It's not going to be all at once,' said Brayden Murdock, a forecaster with the weather service. 'It'll add up to a good amount for coastal Sonoma. Some places could record up to an inch between Friday and Sunday.
