Glasgow is renowned for its warm welcomes and the good people of Maryhill certainly proved that for the visit of Princess Diana and Prince Charles in March 1983.
Locals cheered for the People's Princess and chanted "we want Charles" as the pair walked into the red sandstone building.It was also a day to cherish for youngster Judith Anne Williams. Not only was the little girl celebrating her fifth birthday, but she was given the honour of presenting Diana with a bouquet of flowers in front of the assembled press.
