Manchester City are one game away from the Premier League title after a thrilling 2-0 win over Spurs
Maybe not by the end, but few could take their eyes away from this tense thriller as Manchester City overcame several jitters to end their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium curse and keep control of the title race going into the final day. Like London buses, a goal and a win came for Pep Guardiola's side with a 2-0 victory getting them an almighty three points but that does not tell anything like all of the story.
City have contrived to not score more goals than most have scored in this stadium, so when Phil Foden was denied the opening goal by an outstanding arm from Vicario in the Spurs net in the 16th minute, there was a knowing feeling. City had scored a Premier League goal at Tottenham at the fifth attempt and the Champions Again chant broke out.
Spurs sub Dejan Kulusevski then burst through the City defence, managing to control a ping-ponging ball and firing at goal only to see it hit Stefan Ortega just as it was about to nutmeg him. With 20 minutes to go, City tempers and nerves were fraying.
