SAN ANTONIO — Unseasonably warm temperatures are about to hit the greater San Antonio area early this week, sweeping out the chilly temperatures from this weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s Austin bureau. These temperatures will be on average 10 to 15 degrees warmer than is usual this time of year.
“We do expect a warming trend Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday,” said Jason Runyen, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service. “There will be highs on Monday in the mid 70s, upper 70s on Tuesday and they’ll reach near 80 on Wednesday.” According to Runyen, it’s going to stay cloudy Sunday evening into Monday morning, and an increase in humidity may result in some dense fog around the area Monday morning, which Runyen reminded people to be on the lookout for.These cloudy skies will remain the norm this week, with chances of a break in the cloud cover in the afternoons on Monday through Thursday, pairing with the unseasonably warm temperatures for December.
The average high for this time of year in San Antonio is 67 degrees and the average low is 44 degrees, according to Runyen.With a high of 80 on Wednesday and lows in the mid 60s the entire week, San Antonioans may want to dress a bit lighter than usual when
