A 19-year-old University of Utah student was killed Friday in what police are calling a domestic violence situation.

In the death of the woman Friday, officers have arrested a 26-year-old man, also an international U. student from China, in connection.

According to a statement of probable cause, the man sent an email to a University of Utah employee that stated he had injected the victim — whom he identified as his girlfriend — with heroin to “relieve her from suffering.”
