On Wednesday, the Vaqueros' first-ever football schedule was released. UTRGV is set to play seven home games during their inaugural 12-game season in 2025, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Tuesday.Former Seguin High School and New Braunfels Canyon High School head coach Travis Bush was hired as the Vaqueros' first head football coach in program history. Tuesday was another step closer to his team playing football games that count.
Typically, FCS programs play 11 regular-season games, but the NCAA permits a 12th game when there are 13 weekends between Labor Day and the weekend before Thanksgiving, as will be the case in 2025.
