The University of Texas is requesting that all students self-quarantine for 14 days before returning to its Austin campus in the fall

, and is considering smaller crowds for its football games, as ways to control the coronavirus spread that has infected more community members there than at any university in the United States.... [+]Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesAll students are expected to self-quarantine for 14 days before doing any on-campus activity, Interim President Jay Hartzell said in aWednesday that found more UT community members have been infected with coronavirus than any other university in the U.S.

UT is also considering limiting crowd size at football games to 25% capacity, lower than the 50% capacity that had been planned. There is also a mask-wearing requirement for inside campus buildings, and Hartzell warned that classes could be forced to cancel if a student doesn’t comply, which will lead to"disciplinary and enforcement action” for the student responsible that could include a suspension from campus for repeated violations.
