A cheerleader at the University of Kentucky is facing several charges after the death of her baby, local police said.
A 21-year-old in Kentucky is facing charges in connection with the death of an infant. The Lexington Police Department said police were called the morning of Aug. 27 to a home in the 400 block of Park Avenue for an unresponsive infant.
When officers arrived, they found the baby, who was pronounced dead at the scene. FOX19 Cincinnati said the arrest citation stated the baby’s body was found in a trash bag inside a closet. The outlet also reported the woman is a student at the University of Kentucky. A University of Kentucky spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that Snelling is a senior at UK and a member of the STUNT team.Snelling is listed as a member of the STUNT team on its website. Her hometown is listed in Tennessee. Lexington police said Snelling was the infant’s mother, but didn’t give any additional details about the baby or the birth. The legal process begins for Snelling, who is facing several charges, including abuse of a corpse; tampering with physical evidence; and concealing the birth of an infant. She’s being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
