An online survey conducted by the Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston shows which direction Harris County voters are leaning a little more than two weeks out from the 2024 elections.

‘I’m disappointed:’ Houston Mayor John Whitmire calls out Controller Chris Hollins for suspected ‘pay to play’ conflicts The survey gauged the opinions of voters on local races such as the race for Harris County Sheriff, District Attorney, Tax Assessor-Collector, County Attorney, as well as other elections such as the presidential election and U.S. Senate race.
The survey also found eight issues that Harris County likely voters classified in the top three issues affecting the county. These are electricity service reliability , rising property taxes , housing affordability , flooding , condition of roads and streets , crime , public school quality and traffic congestion .
