The return of McCaskill will be a big boost for the Cougars, who had to rely on a backfield-by-committee approach due to injuries to Ta’Zhawn Henry and Brandon Campbell. That forced quarterback Clayton Tune to be involved in the running game more than the coaching staff desired. McCaskill’s presence was also felt near the goal-line as the Cougars frequently struggled in short-yardage situations.
