Universal is already trying to tamp down expectations for the new Dallas-Fort Worth kids park that takes aim at Legoland and will do battle with Six Flags and SeaWorld parks in Texas.
The 97-acre Universal Kids resort will be home to a theme park and themed hotel with space set aside for future expansion. That’s a fairly small footprint by modern theme park standards.
Universal is already trying to tamp down expectations for the new kids park that will have a completely different look, feel and scale than its other existing parks around the world. Universal’s new theme park for young children and their families targets the same 2-to-12-year-old demographic that has been Legoland’s domain since the toymaker opened its first theme park in Denmark in 1968.
