Universal Orlando is preparing to unleash a horde of classic monsters at its newest theme park , Epic Universe . Opening on May 22nd, the Dark Universe themed land will immerse visitors in the eerie and shadowy world of Universal's iconic horror films from the 1920s to the 1950s. The heart of this chilling experience lies in the ravaged Darkmoor Village, overrun by creatures like the Mummy, Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Frankenstein's Monster.
\The story unfolds with the monstrous chaos unleashed by an experiment gone awry, orchestrated by Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, the great-great granddaughter of Henry Frankenstein. This new addition to the Universal Monsters family takes center stage in the village's grim and forbidding atmosphere. Brave adventurers will be invited to explore a deserted cemetery and underground catacombs within the imposing Frankenstein Manor, the land's centerpiece. \Dark Universe will offer a thrilling array of attractions, including a motion simulator dark ride, a spinning roller coaster, two immersive restaurants, a gift shop, a monster makeover experience, and chances to meet and greet with beloved characters. The star attraction, the Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment dark ride, utilizes a Kuka robot arm similar to those found in Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attractions, promising a heart-pounding chase through the dark corridors of Frankenstein Manor. Riders will find themselves pursued by Dracula, who seeks to release the other monsters held captive within the manor. Dr. Frankenstein, dedicated to her duty of capturing and rehabilitating Darkmoor's unearthly inhabitants, will fight alongside her hunchback lab assistant, Ygor, to protect us from Dracula's wrath. \Throughout the ride, visitors will encounter 14 larger-than-life animatronic figures, including a 9-foot-tall, 800-pound Frankenstein’s Monster. The Phantom of the Opera will add a haunting touch with his performance on an organ, featuring 14 flames shooting out of the pipes that dance in sync with the music. The Curse of the Werewolf roller coaster starts with a chilling warning before taking riders through a wagon camp, where they encounter Maleva, the leader of the Guild of Mystics, who reveals that each of us bears the mark of the werewolf. This unsettling news triggers a pack of werewolves waiting in the dark forest, creating a heart-stopping chase as riders attempt to escape their pursuit. \Adding to the immersive experience, Dark Universe will feature a vampire-themed restaurant aptly named Das Stakehaus. Housed in an old inn and dining hall built over ancient catacombs, this darkly opulent establishment will serve as a hauntingly delicious dining destination.
