The store will re-open on Friday, while all Unity staff members who work there have been put on a 14-day leave of absence, said a spokesperson.
During its two-day closure, the standalone outlet – located on the third floor of the mall in Serangoon Central – will be subjected to deep cleaning procedures, in line with the National Environment Agency’s guidelines to disinfect the premises.
“Unity is extending all the necessary assistance to the affected staff and the employee’s family during this time,” the spokesperson added. The spokesperson said that it has put in place stringent precautionary measures to maintain a safe and clean environment for its shoppers and staff in accordance with the Ministry of Health ’s guidelines since the outbreak.
“Customers are also encouraged to maintain safe distancing. Floor markings at checkout queues, in-store posters and announcements have been put in place to remind customers to do so,” said the spokesperson.
