Unitree has unveiled its new humanoid robot that features remarkable flexibility, dexterous hands and advanced learning for daily tasks.

Popular Chinese robotics firm Unitree, known for its quadrupeds like Go2 and B2, entered the humanoid space last year by unveiling its H1 model. The company has taken the game forward by introducing a new all-rounder general-purpose humanoid called G1 Humanoid Agent.

Yes, it neatly folds so a user can lift and carry it relatively easily. What helps is that it weighs just around 77 pounds , including the battery. The G1 EDU also offers an optional three-fingered dexterous hand that provides 7 degrees of freedom plus an additional 2 for the wrist and can be equipped with tactile sensor arrays.

The G1 EDU offers optional high computing power with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin module. It has a 9000mAh smart battery, which offers about 2 hours of battery life. Unitree has also provided G1 with intelligent over-the-air updates for integrating newer technologies. All the specifications, when combined, have resulted in some advanced abilities for a humanoid robot.

With no exposed cables, the hallow joint wiring allows G1 to fold neatly into a pack, aiding general aesthetics and practicality. The video also demonstrated G1’s ability to grasp skills using the Unitree imitation and reinforcement learning model, though the firm has yet to release more details.
