United Airlines flight 1453 was was kept at Newark after the aborted takeoff. Flight information shows the plane was scheduled to depart Newark at 10:04 a.m. The aircraft arrived at the airport from Charlotte, North Carolina, about an hour earlier,The Boeing 747-900 was towed to an airport gate, where passengers boarded another aircraft for their destination, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told NJ Advance Media. No injuries were reported.
The terminated takeoff caused minimal disruptions to other departing airplanes, the authority said. The Federal Aviation Administration said it is conducting an investigation. Newark is the New York City-area hub for United Airlines.
