UNIQLO, SM Foundation join forces in assisting 'Paeng' victims

To support the recovery of tropical cyclone Paeng victims, UNIQLO Philippines and SM Foundation have teamed up to provide additional relief aid to communities distressed by the calamity.

An estimated 43 “high-risk” barangays in Zamboanga Del Sur, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Pampanga, Bulacan, Isabela, and Cagayan received Emergency GoKit+ containing medicines, basic medical supplies, tools, and equipment necessary to provide immediate assistance when calamities and other emergencies occur, said the SM Foundation in a statement.The distribution was led by SM employee volunteers, the foundation added.

After Paeng brought torrential rains and flooding to a big part of the country, leaving almost a million Filipinos displaced and thousands injured, SM Foundation and SM Supermalls employee volunteers immediately provided Kalinga Packs to 8,800 families.SM Foundation, together with SM Supermalls and SM Markets, assured that it is committed to providing aid to those who will be affected by any calamities through its Tulong Express program.
