In case you missed it, Fahmi was confident broadband internet prices would fall significantly after September. Well, it's now October and the first news that we got is Telekom Malaysia 's announcement on permanently reducing unifi broadband plans and a free speed upgrade.
If you are an existing unifi broadband user, you should have received an email from TM telling you that you're getting a free speed upgrade. And since it's free, you don't need to top up anything at all. There's no timeline of when you will get the upgrade but it's in progress now and will continue until the end of 2023. Another way is to manually check your plan on your unifi app.
To refresh your memory, below are the details of the free speed upgrade as well as the new unifi broadband pricing for each plan:In conjunction with TM's announcement, unifi is also offering a new limited-time promo for the unifi 100Mbps plan for just RM89 per month. It doesn't say when this limited time will end but as long as you subscribe to this plan, the promo price will stay that way for 24 months after the contract runs out.
