This is Stark County’s second open John Doe case.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - One March day in 2020, just as the coronavirus pandemic took hold, someone discovered skeletal remains in an isolated area of Stark County. But new life-like images in his case and another John Doe case in the county could help investigators solve their cases.

Someone found his bones scattered in the brush next to an oil well site 20 yards off Sandy Avenue Southeast in Canton.“This is a rural area, farm community. It was a long lane back to an oil well site where the skeletal remains were found, I personally was on the scene when this body was discovered,” said Sheriff George Maier with the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

They worked with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office to get a better picture of what this John Doe looked like. “But this person had someone out there that knew them, loved them and cared about them. We’re asking those people to please, take a look, come forward and talk to us about this case, we’d love to get some resolution on this,” Maier said.Investigators believe this man was white, between 30 to 50 years old and between 5′1″ and 5′9″ tall. But they don’t know his weight, hair and eye color.
