multiple starters are returningAmong them leading the rallying cry is Jack Sawyer. The Pickerington North product saw his NFL draft stock rise in the second half of the season but he said unfinished business kept him in Columbus for another season.
"The chance to improve your draft stock, but really, for a lot of us, it was the team thing all coming back," Sawyer said about his decision to return. "Unfinished business.”"I wouldn’t have felt right leaving losing to three times, ya know, with the team, the guys we have coming back, I wanted to take charge and say, 'hey look, if we all come back, look what we can do,' and I think once I thought about that and got other guys on board, it was a no brainer because we have the team to do it this year we have to go out and execute now.” He also sees the upcoming season as an opportunity to reunite with his counterpart and friend, JT Tuimoloau. "I knew before you guys knew when he was coming back. I was excited. He’s a hell of a player and a good friend of mine. I'm going to enjoy it and hopefully have some fun wreaking havoc on quarterbacks next fall," Sawyer said. "Our goals were right there and reachable. Once we thought about that, we became more motivated to come back and get straight to work," Tuimoloau said.Knowles, in his first interview of the year, said he wants to train Sawyer and Tuimoloau as outside linebackers. Sawyer said he is focusing on his flexibility this spring, working on bending the corner, along with foot placement and hand placement, and improving his overall technique.Stay Connected
