A former Rutgers star went from undrafted to NFL starter in the span of four months.
“Yes, he has ,” Bowles said.
“[I] played the position for the first time last year in college, then transitioning into the league playing it,” Izien told local reporters two weeks ago. “I’m still learning a lot, that just comes with the ends and outs of playing a position, and Coach [Todd] Bowles is doing a really good job teaching me. ... a genius, you know, defensively, how he schemes up his calls and stuff like that. Getting the chance to learn under him, I’m learning a lot of ball.
