Uncle Waffles, DBN Gogo lead in 2022 Trending Awards of the Year
This year was a good one for gimmicks. Broadcasters turning to rap, DJs playing premixed sets, and rappers taking aim at each other to launch diss tracks simply to turn around and collaborate a few weeks after.Some might say he has revived the sport, but this form of entertainment is dangerous. Just ask Priddy Ugly, who was floored by Nyovest in the third instalment of this event, which even claimed the career of the once-popular podcaster Slik Talk.
This year, the hunger for African creativity continued to grow abroad. We had a few local stars garner international acclaim, which led to opportunities that saw acts including Kamo Mphela, DBN Gogo, and a string of other amapiano acts touring overseas.
