South Bay Pioneers, una organización de rehabilitación sin ánimo de lucro con sede en Chula Vista para hombres en su mayoría, está trabajando para construir una casa de rehabilitación para mujeres, pero necesita ayuda.
En el sur del condado escasean los alojamientos solo para mujeres en recuperación, según los Servicios de Salud Conductual del condado.Durante más de 40 años, South Bay Pioneers ha ofrecido alojamiento a hombres que buscan un estilo de vida sobrio en sus instalaciones de 24 camas, Pioneer House, y Cody Sober Living, un edificio de 18 departamentos.
“Estas mujeres han vivido un ciclo continuo de malas circunstancias —cárcel, falta de techo, relaciones rotas—, pero nuestro objetivo es proporcionarles el apoyo que necesitan para descubrir una vida que nunca podrían haber imaginado para sí mismas”, dijo Naumann.Llamada Charm’s House, la instalación llevará el nombre de la difunta Charmain Antaramian, una residente de Chula Vista que frecuentaba los programas de la organización.
