ÁMSTERDAM (AP) — Una corte holandesa condenó el miércoles a tres hombres por asesinato por su implicación en la muerte a tiros en 2021 del periodista de investigación Peter R. de Vries, un llamativo ataque en el centro de Ámsterdam que conmocionó a Holanda.
ÁMSTERDAM — Una corte holandesa condenó el miércoles a tres hombres por asesinato por su implicación en la muerte a tiros en 2021 del periodista de investigación Peter R. de Vries, un llamativo ataque en el centro de Ámsterdam que conmocionó a Holanda. El tirador, el conductor de huida y un organizador del crimen fueron condenados por implicación directa en el asesinato.
El suceso provocó indignación, dolor y enojo en Holanda. El rey de Holanda, Guillermo Alejandro, lo calificó de “ataque al periodismo, la piedra angular de nuestro estado constitucional y por lo tanto también un ataque al estado de Derecho”. De Vries había sido asesor y confidente de un testigo protegido en el juicio contra el supuesto líder y otros miembros de una pandilla criminal. Tanto el hermano como el abogado del testigo fueron asesinados.
