Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh says action must be taken over the leaked memo to restore public confidence in the country’s legal system.
PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth will be lodging police reports to demand a probe into a purported leaked internal memo from the Attorney-General’s Chambers to drop a 1MDB case involving former prime minister Najib Razak. Its wing’s chief, Dr Akmal Saleh, said despite Attorney-General Idrus Harun stating that an investigation would be carried out on the leaked memo, there has been no update till today.
He also said that it was disheartening that Idrus will be on leave until the day he has to step down from the post on Sept 6, adding that the latter has “left the issue hanging”.And action must be taken to restore public confidence in our legal system.”
