JAIPUR: Indian government officials took temporary control Tuesday (Nov 26) at a luxurious hilltop palace in Rajasthan after arguments between rival royal brothers sparked clashes between stone-throwing loyalists outside its fortified gates.
KUALA LUMPUR: The eldest brother of the man who attacked the Ulu Tiram Police Station in Johor, resulting in the deaths of two policemen, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday in the High Court here to two charges, supporting the Islamic State and possessing materials related to the terrorist group.
On the first charge, Radin Romyullah is accused of providing support by pledging allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakar Al-Baghdadi, at a house on Jalan Rabani, Kampung Sungai Tiram, Johor Baru, Johor at the end of 2014. Radin Romyullah is also accused of possessing an external hard disk containing materials related to the Islamic State terrorist group and acts of terrorism at the same location at 10.45am on May 17 and 2:30pm on May 19.
Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Yazid Mustaqim Roslan told the court that Radin Romyullah would be tried alongside other accused individuals who had previously been charged with the same offences in the High Court before a different judge.Counsel Arief Firdaus Ashikin, representing the accused, did not object to the request.
