Seymour — who died this past weekend at age 79, after a length illness — was well known in the Saskatoon sports community as an educator, coach and volunteer. Seymour collected hockey pucks and sports books and even helped P.J. Kennedy write one. He once even joked to long-time sports journalist Bob Florence, when the two of them were in the stands during the Huskies’ final season at Rutherford Rink, about retrieving a goal-light from the Dog House before it got torn down.Article content

In 1971, he served as a committee member for the Canada Winter Games, the first of many volunteer gigs over the years.
