The Ultimate Spider-Man #15 will feature the debut of a Raimiverse villain, the Sandman, who will pose a significant threat to Peter Parker and his family on their vacation.
Warning: Contains potential spoilers for Ultimate Spider-Man #15! Marvel Comics’ current Ultimate Universe is officially about to welcome a classic Spider-Man villain to its growing cast, with a Raimiverse character finally set to make a smashing debut. The final entry in Sam Raimi’s trilogy, Spider-Man 3 from 2007, featured a few different antagonists that Peter Parker had to face off against, and the messiest one is about to wreak havoc on Peter and his family.
Marvel has released new details about Ultimate Spider-Man #15 – written by Jonathan Hickman, with art by David Messina – which officially reboots another iconic villain for this version of Spidey’s expanding rogues gallery, as Marco Checchetto’s action-packed cover provides the first look at the new Sandman in the Ultimate Universe. On the cover, Spider-Man swings around with his young daughter holding on tight as they narrowly avoid the Sandman’s destruction. When the Parkers take a trip after an all-new take on Spidey’s first run-in with Kraven the Hunter, Peter can’t escape his superhero destiny. The Sandman is one of the most famous Spider-Man villains of all-time, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko back in Amazing Spider-Man #4, and his Ultimate Universe introduction is an exciting development for Hickman’s series. Though details are still scarce on this new version of the sand-powered Marvel villain, the new Sandman looks to be an immediate threat to Peter’s family on their vacation. Since MJ and the kids know Peter’s superhero secret, they could wind up even more at risk when the Ultimate Sandman attacks, as already previewed in the cover for Ultimate Spider-Man #15, with Mayday Parke
