Ukrainian Member of Parliament Oleksandr Merezhko announced plans to nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2025, citing Trump's efforts in peace initiatives in the Middle East and support for Ukraine against Russian aggression.
On Wednesday, Oleksandr Merezhko , a Ukrainian Member of Parliament, announced his intention to nominate American President-elect Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2025. Merezhko believes Trump is deserving of the prize for his efforts to bring peace to the Middle East during his first term, notably through the Abraham Accords . These agreements normalized Israel's relationship with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Additionally, Merezhko credits Trump with making a significant contribution to Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression, noting that Trump was the first U.S. president to begin providing Ukraine with military and technical assistance. Merezhko hopes Trump, back in the White House in January, will avoid appeasing Russia and continue to support Ukraine's sovereignty
