After earlier setbacks, Russian forces are pressing ahead with offenses in Ukraine's south and east, renewing concerns about the conflict's civilian toll.

The concerns of the West over Ukraine are"shortsighted and egotistical in nature," he said, calling it"cannon fodder" in the direct war against the Russian Federation."The weapons producers in western countries and eagerly rubbing their hands, calculating their profits from increased demand on military products," he said.

"It is not possible to sweep the truth of this under the rug," he said, calling out the West's unwillingness to condemn Ukraine's crimes.
