Getty ImagesRussian forces are reportedly just 19 miles from Ukraine's second-largest nuclear facility, the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant in Mykolaiv province, according to Ukrainian officials. Heavy fighting continues in the area surrounding the plant.

Additionally, United Nations officials have also reiterated that no spiking levels of radiation have been reported from the plant. As Ukraine is not an official member of NATO, the body decided against implementing this zone, a move that was strongly criticized by Zelensky. NATO has previously been reluctant to get involved in wars that do not involve its member states.

Harris will depart this coming Wednesday for the two nations' respective capital cities of Warsaw and Bucharest, where the White House says she will spend the three-day trip meeting with the leaders of both countries. Harris previously spoke to the Polish and Romanian prime ministers via phone this past Tuesday, in addition to a conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalensky.
