THE LANCET - the prestigious British medical journal - has weighed in on the US Supreme Court's draft decision to overturn the nationwide right to abortion, saying that the justices will have 'women's blood on their hands' if they follow through.

The case was brought by one Norma McCovery — known by her legal pseudonym “Jane Roe” — against her local district attorney Henry Wade. It saw the court rule the US Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment provided a “right to privacy” that protected the right to abortion, balanced against the government’s interests in protecting health and prenatal life.
