Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision over concerns for her health, Buckingham Palace announced
LONDON — .
“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” a statement from Buckingham Palace said. They said the queen remains “comfortable and at Balmoral,” the castle in Scotland where she currently resides and where just two days ago she welcomed her 15th British prime minister in Liz Truss.
Making the announcement in the House of Commons, Speaker Lindsay Hoyle said of the 96-year-old monarch: “I know I speak on behalf of the entire House when I say that we send our best wishes to Her Majesty the queen, and that she and the Royal Family are in our thoughts and prayers at this moment.
The Scottish National Party leader in Westminster, Ian Blackford, told MPs he was “saddened to hear the announcement that’s been made.”
